HoYoverse has announced Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.0, Paean of Era Nova, will be launching on January 15th, kicking off a new chapter as the players arrive in Amphoreus.
To wrap up version 2.9, the players of Honkai: Star Rail will enter the next chapter of the game in 3.0, Paean of Era Nova, as they embark on a new world called the Amphoreus. Launching on January 15th, the Trailblaze mission in Amphoreus will be released in two parts across eight versions, from 3.0 to 3.7, being the largest story arc released as of yet. As the fans return to the game, they will experience the new storyline, explore multiple maps, and utilize many new gameplay features.
Welcome to the land of Amphoreus under the Black Swan’s guidance to replenish the Trailblaze fuel and discover the mysteries of the celestial body. Amphoreus appears as a chaotic vortex, being impossible to detect or understand. The inhabitants are completely unaware of the outside universe and do not know the concept of ‘Aeons’, instead worshipping deities known as ‘Titans’. Rooted in a deep history, there were 12 Titans that help created the world, but three Titans named Strife, Death, and Trickery caused a civil war among the gods and soon, a force known as the black tide swept across the world.
With no one knowing about the origins and gradually consuming the land, the god wages endless war as the world falls into eternal night and the Holy City of Okhema is the only sanctuary for humanity, standing as the last barrier against the black tide.
Stepping foot into Amphoreus from the Astral Express in Honkai: Star Rail, the Trailblazer and Dan Heng will first descend into a region known as the ‘Abyss of Fate’, the legend says that three Titans named Time, Passage, and Law once wove the threads of time, space, and rules that would govern Amphoreus to determined the fate of all creations. With the land being in eternal night, the Trailblazer’s group returns to the Abyss of Fate, going through the mists and delving deep into the temple to gain an audience with Oronyx, the Titan of Time. Following the encounter, the Trailblazer embarks on the Path of Remembrance and gains the ability to draw strength from the past.
During their adventure in Honkai: Star Rail, the players will be accompanied by a character named “Mem”, with a mysterious origin but gained the name due to only making a Mem sound. The character will play an important role as the Trailblazer can summon Mem during battles, where it gradually charges energy. After being fully charged, it can provide Mem’s support, allowing a designated character to take action and deal with additional True DMG.
As the Trailblazer arrives in Okhema, the Holy City built into the mountainside is a crucial base for the trailblazing journey through Amphoreus. In Okhema, players can visit the Marmoreal Palace to enjoy a relaxing bath while connecting with the locals. But in a time filled with eternal night and chaos, Worldbearting Titans’ protection serves as Okhema’s final sanctuary and a beacon of hope, with the locals sharing a tale of how Kephale shall one day open their eyes to lead humanity to overcome the black tide and forge a new world. Yet from beneath the city, a group known as Chrysos Heirs are on a mission to reclaim the 12 Titan Coreflames to help restore Amphoreus to glory.
Trailblazers can also explore the city-state of Castrum Kremnos. Named after the Blade of Fury that hovers above the city, it is where the Strife Titan reside, making it the place where the seventh Coreflame rests. During the second half of the Trailblaze mission, players will borrow Oronyx’s power to return to the past and experience Castrum Kremnos during the golden age. While in the golden age, you’ll discover one of the mechanisms the Trickery Titan Zagreus has left behind, The Hand of Zagreus.
The mechanism can be used to lift heavy objects, pick up items, smash open pathways, and use against enemies in special circumstances. The players will also enter Castrum Kremnos with the Chrysos Heirs and travel through the ruined stronghold to fight against the maddened Strife Titan to take back the Coreflame of Strife.
Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.0 last map will serve as a starting point for the entire world of Amphoreus, The Vortex of Genesis. It was the grand sanctuary for 12 divine Titans, and the prophesies place where the Miracle of Genesis occurred. Every time a Chrysos Heir takes on a Titan and retrieves its Coreflame, they will return the Coreflame here. While in the void, every constellation that is lit represents the journey walked by one’s predecessors. As the long Flame-Chase Journey has already undergone centuries of misery with much work done, the remaining labours require the Trailblazer to work alongside the Chrysos Heirs to achieve their goal.
There will be two new 5-star characters arriving at Honkai: Star Rail, with the first character being the #83 member of the Genius Society, an Emanator of Erudition, The Herta. With her Herta puppets and unique behaviour at the space station, The Herta is an Ice-Type Erudition character skilled at AoE DMG in battle, as she can apply interpretation on enemies and your ally attack will also stack the interpretation, increasing The Herta’s ability DMG based on their high interpretation stacked on a specific target and enemies beside it. Lastly, The Herta Ultimate can transfer the highest Interpretation stacks to Elite or stronger enemies before you can deal with Ice DMG to all the targets.
The second character to arrive is Aglaea from Amphoreus, bearing the divine authority of “Romance” and is one of the earliest Chrysos Heirs to embark on the Flame-Chase Journey. As an Okhema dress master, Algaea serves not only as a legendary hero of Amphoreus but also as a major figure in recruiting new Chrysos Heirs to join the world-saving journey after the Flame-Chase Journey was interrupted prior. Being the first limited 5-star Remembrance character, Algaea can summon her memosprite Garmentmaker in the battle to fight alongside her by demonstrating a duet dance aesthetic in combat. Alongside the summon, Algae and her Garmentmaker can synchronize attacks on enemies, increasing the Garmentmaker SPD and adding a new layer of variability to combat.
Alongside the new characters joining Honkai: Star Rail, there will be a special Warp event in the first half and second half of version 3.0. Not to mention as of March 7th, players can unlock the “Preservation” outfit after unlocking the “Character” function and logging in during the Version 3.0 period. The 5-star characters that will be returning are:
- The first half of the 3.0 – Lingsha, Feixaio, and Jade
- The second half of the 3.0 – Boothill, Robin, and Silver Wolf
Honkai: Star Rail is available to download on the PS5, PC (via HoYoPlay and Epic Games Store), iOS, and Android. Version 3.0, Paean of Era Nova, will launch on January 15th, 2025.
