Huawei, the innovative high-tech company, has apparently committed to revealing their upcoming tri-foldable smartphone on Sept 10, in a “Grand Ceremony”.
Just one month after Huawei Chairman, Richard Yu, has been reported holding a new tri-foldable device mid-flight, we have a new announcement potentially surrounding the device. GSMArena has previously reported Chairman Yu has said the phone would be available for purchase “next month,” when asked how consumers would be able to get a hold of one at a Stelato S9 event. Today, the tech company has announced a “Grand Ceremony” to be held on September 10, with the main poster for the event showcasing the tri-foldable smartphone. The poster can be seen below as revealed by Huawei.

It’s worth mentioning that the device is named (allegedly) before the event, and it will be called the “Huawei Mate XT.” Although the new device is exciting, it’s worth mentioning the device will likely not be seen in the US due to an ongoing ban on the company’s equipment which has remained in effect since 2022 at the FCC’s discretion. It’s also possible the tech company was looking for a way to avoid directly stepping on tech juggernaut Apple while also potentially stealing some of the spotlight from it, seeing as how Apple’s upcoming iPhone 16 showcase is set to land on September 9.
Aside from Chairman Yu’s willingness to use the product ahead of the official reveal event, Huawei has remained pretty tight-lipped about the upcoming smartphone and other devices that could appear at the event on September 10. All consumers know currently is the device features a Z-like folding pattern, and that it will be a part of Huawei’s “Ultimate Design” brand. Which aside from being a successor to their previous Porsche partnership, means that the device will likely not be a cheap one.

While speculation can be fun regarding upcoming smartphones, all potential leaks and information should be taken with a grain of salt until companies make any formal announcements, and the same can be said about devices that have been spotted in the wild (even literally in company executive hands). Huawei’s “Grand Ceremony” lands on September 10.
