Upcoming Horror Game I Hate This Place Gives Us A Grusome First Look

Broken Mirror Games, in partnership with Skybound Entertainment, has officially unveiled the first official gameplay trailer for their upcoming survival horror game: I Hate This Place.

Announced via press release, I Hate This Place will be a craft-focused, isometric survival horror game filled with twisted monsters and warped realities. Utilizing a unique comic book art style, the game is largely inspired by an 80s horror vibe. The game is set to release in Q4 2025 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

I Hate This Place will feature a dynamic day-to-night cycle where players will need to scavenge and craft during the day in order to prepare themselves to face hordes of twisted monsters at night. Exploration plays a large role, and players will need to search every corner of the map to find vital resources. However, leaning into its horror inspirations, fighting monsters isn’t always a viable strategy, and players will need to utilize stealth in order to survive, especially since most of these monsters can hunt players by sound.

Inspired by Skybound’s Eisner Award-nominated comic book series created by writer Kyle Starks and artist Artyom Topilin, I Hate This Place puts players in the blood-soaked shoes of Elena, whose fight for survival begins when she and her friend unwittingly summons a malevolent force. Combining bold colours, a retro comic book style, and a heavy dose of 80s flair, the game is a unique blend of horror, dark humour, and just the right touch of camp.

Founded in 2024, Broken Mirror Games is a co-development horror label under Bloober Team. With a focus on immersive experiences, innovative gameplay, and captivating storytelling, Broken Mirror Games’ mission is to create unforgettable, spine-chilling titles that leave a lasting impact on players.
