If you love iam8bit’s vinyl, collectibles, and indie game collaborations, get ready for a year-long celebration of its 20th anniversary.
Known for releasing vinyl records, merchandise and physical copies of popular indie games, iam8bit has announced various events throughout 2025 to celebrate its 20th anniversary in the industry. From hosting events at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco to an exclusive vinyl repress on its website, fans will have plenty of opportunities to grab exciting merchandise and commemorate the company’s achievements.
The first event will be held from March 18 to 22, 2025, at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco at the Moscone Convention Center. Fans can visit the pop-up shop to purchase exclusive merchandise, including a limited-edition tote bag and shirt celebrating the 20th anniversary.
For those in Los Angeles, a year-end art show will take place for a limited time around November 2025. Attendees will see works of art from throughout iam8bit’s history alongside new pieces from past collaborators.
The final event announced so far is the exclusive vinyl repress event hosted on the iam8bit website. For a limited time, fans can purchase beloved and rare records. Alongside the vinyl repress, iam8bit will launch anniversary collaborations with its favourite studios and developers, offering special collections throughout 2025.
As fans prepare to celebrate iam8bit’s anniversary, co-owner and co-creative director Jon Gibson said, “We are incredibly proud of the incredible trails we’ve blazed over the last 20 years. With every endeavour, we’ve worked to ensure that the love, care and quality shine through everything we do—whether we’re working with creators and partners to turn passion into incredible products or bringing together the games industry to celebrate and commemorate our favourite games at bespoke experiences around the world.”
Following Gibson’s statement, co-owner and co-creative director Amanda White said, “This milestone is a testament to the hard work and love the team has for the industry. We can’t wait to continue creating incredible events, games and vinyl records for fans, collectors, our industry colleagues and partners to cherish for lifetimes.”
Speaking of iam8bit, the upcoming Day of the Devs 2025: San Francisco Edition will be held at The Midway in San Francisco on March 16 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. PST. Partnered with Double Fine Productions, the event will highlight 60 indie games and developers, celebrating the indie gaming industry with fans, great music and surprises. The event is free to attend, and fans can visit the Day of the Devs website to learn more.
