If fans like free downloads, Xbox will be one to keep an eye on, as ID@Xbox Demo Fest will allow Xbox players to dive into over 40 demos starting next week.
Demos let players try a game out in a small capacity and play a snippet of a title before buying (usually at a random spot in the game’s narrative). This lets players have a more informed approach before making a purchase, and overall can help gamers find what they want to play more easily and without spending anything. That’s what the ID@Xbox Demo Fest is seeking to bestow next week, when over 40 title demos are made playable with no extra charge to the player.

Indie Selects is bringing fans a massive Demo Fest next week. From September 9 until September 30, players on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One can jump into more than 40 demos for free, including upcoming anticipated titles that gamers have been waiting for since their announcement (like the enhanced Yooka-Replaylee). There will also be a few that are releasing new content, and demos are a way to get new fans on board before the content drop.
While the full list of title demos will be revealed on September 9th, ID@Xbox Demo Fest has rolled out the red carpet for the first four titles headlining Demo Fest, detailed below.
- Echo Weaver – From the developers of The Wild At Heart at Moonlight Kids, comes what they’re referring to as a “time loop metroidBRAINia where time is your best resource and secrets are your only upgrades.” As the last of the weavers, you will have to find a way to break the glitching time loop trapping you, and achieve the perfect loop to uncover the mystery behind The Congregation’s utopian project.

- Mina The Hollower – The next title from Yacht Club Games has successfully passed its Kickstarter with flying colours, which means Mina The Hollower is coming soon, but not before a demo launches with the ID@Xbox Demo Fest. The creators of Shovel Knight have brought fans another pixel-laden adventure, and as the renowned Hollower Mina, fans are hurled into a desperate mission to rescue a cursed island.
- The Jackbox Party Pack 11 – After the release of the Jackbox Naughty Pack, Jackbox Games appears to bring things back to party with Party Pack 11. This time around, Jackbox is bringing a whopping five new games to the party pack with:
- Doominate (Writing) – Take a perfectly lovely situation and destroy it in this head-to-head joke game that supports 3-8 players
- Hear Say (Sound Effects) – Players can record sound effects and dialogue directly from their phone in a mini-game where laughter is key. Players can then watch voices come to life in a series of short movie clips.

- Yooka-Replaylee – the definitive remade and enhanced version of the 3D indie platforming collectathon title that launched back in 2017. Yooka-Laylee was developed by key creative talent behind the Banjo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong Country games, but the definitive version includes remixed stages, quality of life improvements, customization options and even a new currency for 2025.
Fans will be able to dive headfirst into ID@Xbox Demo Fest starting on September 9, and then, fans can try out some of the best Indie Games coming soon without having to pay extra.
