IFA 2025: Lenovo Announces New ThinkPads, Advanced Displays, And Smart Docks

This week in Berlin, Lenovo took the stage at IFA 2025 to showcase its latest innovations from across its product lines.

During its presentation, Lenovo unveiled powerful new gaming hardware alongside stylish mobile devices aimed at students and digital artists. For its business computing line of Think devices, AI took center stage. This year, users can expect not only deeper AI software integration but also high-end workstations designed to fully harness the technology and even help create new tools.

While Lenovo’s new ThinkPad laptops grabbed the spotlight with their AI-centric overhauls and Blackwell GPUs, Lenovo also announced new smart docks, proof-of-concepts, and a striking new display.

For lighter workloads, Lenovo introduced the ThinkPad P14s i Gen 6 and 16s Gen 4, two of the most portable ThinkPads the company has ever produced. At just 0.59 and 0.71 inches thick, they’re razor-thin and featherlight, but aren’t lacking power. Changes are coming to the ThinkPad X9 Aura Edition. The Aura Edition, which was released earlier this year, will soon be available in a new Glacier White colorway. The laptop’s Smart Share experience will also be transitioning to Lenovo’s Smart Connect App to integrate the Aura into the Lenovo ecosystem for a more seamless experience.

Lenovo’s lineup of docks is also getting an overhaul. The ThinkPad Thunderbolt 4 Smart Dock Gen 2 7500 will enable users to connect their laptops to a single 8K display or dual 4K monitors, while also providing 100W passthrough power and four always-on charging ports.

Another new option is the ThinkPad USB4 Smart Dock 5500, which includes similar connection options through its USB4 tether.
