A Festive Update

Auto Draft

Infinity Nikki’s first major update, Version 1.1, “Shooting Star Season,” will officially launch on Dec. 30, just in time to ring in the new year.

Publisher Infold Games and Papergame have released a new trailer for the update, along with initial details, offering a glimpse of what players can expect from the game’s future events. The event will run until Jan. 23 and will feature new storylines, platforming challenges, limited-time events, and, as expected, outfits. Here’s the official description of the event:

“During the Shooting Star Season, shimmering meteors will grace the night skies over Miraland as residents come together and cast their wishes upon the stars. Beyond these cosmic travelers and festive decorations, players will find a series of new activities, rewards, and ways to interact with the cozy open-world.”

Infinity Nikki is an open-world dress-up game where players accompany a young girl named Nikki and her feline companion, Momo, as they attempt to rescue the god of wishes. Along the way, players unlock different outfits that grant Nikki various powers, such as the “Bubbly Voyage” outfit, which allows her to float over long distances. While the game includes some light combat, it primarily focuses on platforming, puzzles, and exploration. There are also gacha elements, enabling players to pull for accessories and new outfits—both those that grant abilities and those that do not.

Infinity Nikki is free-to-play on all platforms, and has already achieved a staggering 20 million downloads since launch. While it’s mostly standalone, Infinity Nikki is actually part of a much larger franchise that’s been running for over a decade, with games like Love Nikki: Dress Up Queen and Shining Nikki. This is the series’ first game on consoles.

Infinity Nikki is available on PS5, PC via the Epic Games Store, iOS, and Android.
