Insomniac's Third Spider-Man Game Will See Peter Returning

Voice Actor of Spider-Man/Peter Parker Yuri Lowenthal in Insomniac’s Spider-Man games reveals that Peter will be back in the third game.

Insomniac Games has been hard at work on the upcoming Wolverine game that fans are excited to see and play. Surprisingly, it was a Marvel‘s Spider-Man update that has been buzzing around this morning. In a recent interview with The Direct, the voice actor for Spider-Man/Peter Parker, Yuri Lowenthal, discussed how Peter will play a role in the unannounced third game in the series. Despite this information, Insomniac has not confirmed a third Spider-Man game yet.

Lowenthal stated on the status of Peter for the third game: “There are very few things that I can say about this game, but you have somehow landed on the one thing that I can answer, and that’s that, yes, Peter is not gone. He will be a part of the next game, and he won’t be relegated to the couch, I promise.”

For those who played Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the player took on the roles of both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as dual protagonists. The game ended with Peter taking a step back from his hero duties to have Miles be New York City’s primary protector. It also showed Norman Osborn ordering someone to grab some G-serum while his son Harry was in critical condition. This could be set up for a major Green Goblin storyline, which means Peter has to be involved. Any Spider-Man fan knows about Peter’s relationship with the Osborn family.

Insomniac'S Third Spider-Man Game Will See Peter Returning

The post-credit scene that introduced Cindy Moon to the Insomniac Games universe as the daughter of Rio Morales’ boyfriend Albert was also another interesting part of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Marvel Comics fans know that Cindy will one day become Silk, who is another spider superhero who was bitten by the same radioactive arachnid that gave Peter his powers. Fans were quick to deduce that the third game might also be a dual protagonist system, with Miles and Cindy taking the spotlight.

With this new information from Lowenthal’s statements, the internet is speculating that the third game may have all three characters playable: Miles, Cindy and Peter. It is an easy line of thinking, especially when the second game originally introduced the dual protagonist story. The next progression could be to go for three storylines. But, it is also possible that Peter will be a part of both Miles and Cindy’s storylines more as a supporting character.

As of right now, fans can continue to speculate and guess what is next for the franchise, but only Insomniac knows what is next for the future web-slingers. But fans should look forward and learn more about their next project, Wolverine, in the near future, which does not have a release window yet.
