“We’re incredibly excited to bring Kena’s journey to a whole new audience, giving players the chance to experience her story at home or on the go with Nintendo Switch 2,” said Chief Operating Officer at Ember Lab, Josh Grier. “As our studio’s debut title, the overwhelming support and love the game has received over the years has truly meant a great deal to our team. We’re beyond thrilled that even more players will now be able to fully immerse themselves in Kena’s world and become part of her journey.”

Kena: Bridge of Spirits first launched all the way back in 2021, solely for PlayStation, before going on to win several awards, including Best Debut Indie Game at The Game Awards 2021 and Best Independent Game. The game itself follows Kena as she navigates the world as a spirit guide, trying to restore balance to an ancient village deprived of its original thriving environment. It mixes puzzle solving, fast combat, exploration, and a compelling, mysterious world backing up the overall narrative.

If you do end up playing Kena: Bridge of Spirits, then know that there are many cool gameplay features to utilize. Along Kena’s journey, she will uncover timid little rot spirits, which are scattered around the forest. Unlocking their abilities is the key to many combat scenarios and to restoring the village to its previous glory. You can even find collectible hats to decorate them with.

Charmstones are the bread and butter of Kena: Bridge of Spirits. Finding and utilizing the advantages and disadvantages they grant is the difference between winning and losing fights. Alongside charmstones is spirit mail. Collecting mail and delivering it to the worried rot spirits who lost it will let you access new areas of the map. A truly cute way to expand the map.

The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Kena: Bridge of Spirits is set for a global launch in Spring of 2026. Currently, Kena: Bridge of Spirits is available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
