Tripwire Interactive Confirmed Killing Floor 3 July Release After Addressing Community Feedback

Tripwire Interactive has confirmed Killing Floor 3 will be launching at the end of July after the title was previously delayed out of March.

Tripwire Interactive has issued a statement confirming a new release date for the highly anticipated third Killing Floor title. The delay that saw Killing Floor 3 leave its previous launch date has now been confirmed as Community-focused. Tripwire decided to postpone the third title’s launch on March 25. Since then, the development team has been focused on using the additional time to address feedback from the player community.

Tripwire Interactive has been very transparent since the delay. The studio has shared updates regularly with fans, detailing all progress on Killing Floor 3. This progress ranges from design choices to in-game animations and big UI updates posted on their forums. Tripwire even posted these updates to their official X (formerly Twitter) account, and one of these posts (that includes the release date reveal trailer) can be seen below.

Creative Director at Tripwire Interactive, Bryan Wynia said “Since delaying the launch of Killing Floor 3, we’ve dedicated the additional development time to responding to the community’s feedback, ensuring the next chapter in the much-loved cult action/horror franchise lives up to our shared vision,” adding “The support from our fans has been incredible, and with the new July 24th release date in sight, we’re thrilled to bring that vision to players not just at launch, but through the continued support of new features and content that is a hallmark of our studio.”

Killing Floor 3 is the next installment in the co-op horror FPS franchise, and it takes place in the year 2091, 70 years after the events in Killing Floor 2. Megacorp Horzine has produced the ultimate army: an obedient horde of bio-engineered monstrosities called Zeds, and the future of humanity is the rebel rogue group known as Nightfall. Players embody Nightfall operatives, joining up with up to five other operatives to push back the Zeds.

Killing Floor 3 and Tripwire Interactive are on the PAX East show floor this weekend at the Alienware Booth. Fans who are attending PAX East can get behind the sticks of Nightfall operatives and fight off the Zeds before Killing Floor 3‘s release on July 24. Fans can even watch the PAX East panel on the official Tripwire Twitch from their couch on May 10.
