Epic Games has pulled back the curtain to reveal LEGO Fortnite Expeditions, a new 4-player co-op PvE experience that launches tomorrow.
After weeks of speculation, Epic Games and LEGO have finally revealed the 4-player PvE LEGO Fortnite Expeditions. In Expeditions, players will enroll in the newly founded Supernova Academy to unlock their super-powered potential. This is where players can hone their skills, master new powers, and obtain additional techniques to defeat evil in the form of Mask Maker Daigo. Mask Maker Daigo is dead set on destroying the world, and it’s up to players to band together and stop his evil plans. LEGO Fortnite Expeditions also unveiled a reveal trailer, and it can be seen below.
The Supernova Academy doubles as a base of operations and will serve fans as a meeting spot for other expeditionists to meet and set out on an adventure together. Like Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2‘s Conton Cityor Destiny 2‘s Tower, this is where players can start and plan new expeditions. Daigo’s Spires have appeared throughout the LEGO Fortnite Expeditions world, and fans can take these down in co-op missions with up to three other heroes.
The mission is to explore the map, aid citizens, and take down enemies in wave-based combat. As featured in the trailer above, the team can also locate and equip additional resources, currency, and new gear as well as play as three distinct hero classes: Shadow Caller, The Hunter, and Rift Ripper. The Shadow Caller is a scout class of sorts, allowing players to surveil the battlefield, and escape using Shadow Form to transform into a flock of invulnerable ravens and fly away before being discovered, she can also heal allies and hurt enemies using Command Shadow.
The Hunter can deal massive damage to a single target and utilize their Grappler ability to close the gap between them and an enemy quickly. The Hunter can also deploy the Bull’s-eye’s Blade to mark enemies to multiply damage and make attacks more accurate for all players in the Mission. Lastly, the Rift Ripper utilizes Rift Shards and Rift Crystals to take out enemies all over the arena while gaining notable powerups from crystals scattered throughout the arena.
