Lenovo has officially unveiled the Tab Plus Gen 2, the follow-up to its entertainment-focused tablet, bringing meaningful upgrades to audio, display, design and software, all at a consumer-friendly price.
If you know PCs, you have, without question, come across Lenovo, one of the biggest brands when it comes to laptops, desktops and gaming hardware. It builds fantastic devices, and it is about to expand further into the tablet space with its new offering, the Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2. A follow-up to its entertainment-focused tablet, the new hardware looks to bring some solid upgrades to the table while still offering a very affordable Android tablet option.

The headline upgrade is the audio: the Tab Plus Gen 2 ships with a JBL nine-unit Pro Speaker System tuned with Dolby Atmos, engineered to fill a room rather than merely accompany it. A built-in Bluetooth speaker mode also lets the tablet serve as a standalone speaker, allowing users to control music or podcasts directly from their phone. Dolby Audio processing with Dynamic, Movie and Music modes gives listeners greater control over how different types of content sound.
Looking at the other specs, Lenovo has bumped the screen to a 12.1-inch 2.5K LCD panel running at 120Hz with Dolby Vision and HDR10 support. With a High Brightness Mode reaching up to 800 nits, the Tab Plus Gen 2 stays legible even in direct sunlight. A new 360-degree rotating kickstand supports lean, theatre, stand, and hanging modes across portrait and landscape orientations, accommodating everything from bedside streaming to countertop recipe following.
Powering the device is a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 octa-core processor, with configurations ranging from 6GB + 128GB up to 12GB + 256GB and microSD expansion up to 2TB. The tablet launches on Android 16, with Lenovo committing to two OS upgrades through Android 18 and four years of security patches until 2030 — a meaningful long-term support pledge in the Android tablet space.

The Tab Plus Gen 2 also includes Lenovo AI Live Transcript with real-time translation across 40-plus languages, AI Notes with Lenovo Notepad, and Lenovo Smarter Reader for easier content navigation. Battery life is rated at up to 15 hours of video streaming from a 10,200mAh cell, backed by 45W fast charging.
The Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 is expected to be available in select global markets with a starting price of $399.99 USD.
