And Surprisingly Compact

LG has seemingly found a solution to the problem of projectors being big eyesores, with a new projector that doubles as an art piece.

The LG CineBeam Qube (model HU710PB) is quite the looker, letting you bring 4K films into your house without worrying too much about the Feng Shui. The Qube is compact and looks quite nice, easily fitting into any kind of art display.

While surprisingly compact, the Qube is surprisingly powerful, capable of projecting 4K UHD (3,840 x 2,160) resolution measuring up to 120 inches. At the same time, LG boasts that the project is equipped with an RGB laser light and “cutting-edge” image refining technologies.

The projector also has a 450,000:1 contrast ratio, 154% of the DCI-P4 colour gamut, and support for HDR 10. The only real downside is the brightness, which comes in at 500 ANSI Lumens, which can be a problem in brighter rooms.

The Qube weighs just over three pounds and runs webOS, which means you’ll be able to instantly access a handful of streaming apps, including Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, and more. It’ll also be compatible with Chromecast and AirPlay. The projector also utilizes Auto Screen Adjustment, which has a feature that automatically optimizes image placement and size.

“Great for spaces large and small, LG CineBeam Qube is a unique lifestyle projector possessing all the qualities consumers look for when choosing a new projection solution,” said YS Lee, Vice President and head of the IT business unit of LG Electronics Business Solutions Company. “LG’s upgraded projector lineup offers a range of lifestyle-enriching devices that present outstanding spatial integration and versatility as well as immersive, cinematic viewing experiences.”

At the moment, LG hasn’t announced details on pricing or availability for the Qube. However, the projector will be appearing at CES 2024 in Las Vegas, so expect more info at that time. CES 2024 takes place on January 9-12.
