Coinciding with the release of Marvel’s Thunderbolts* film, Marvel Rivals has deployed a new in-game event and a new Winter Soldier skin based on his appearance in the film.

This week, the previously announced Hellfire Gala event will go into effect on Marvel Rivals, giving players three acts of missions to complete. With the launch of the Hellfire Gala event, Marvel Rivals’ midseason balance patch for Season 2 has arrived, bringing a range of balance adjustments to the game. Several heroes have had their abilities tweaked—positively or negatively—to help keep gameplay competitive and fair. As part of the in-game event, new missions send players to iconic locations across Krakoa to earn exclusive rewards. Players will also be able to vote on next year’s Gala skin, confirming that the Hellfire Gala will become an annual event.

Voting Tokens will be introduced during the Gala, providing players with opportunities to vote. The hero who receives the most votes will earn a new skin for the Hellfire Gala 2026 event in Marvel Rivals, and fans who participate will receive a special gallery card for the hero they supported. In addition to voting and earning rewards, players who complete all acts of the Hellfire Gala: Moments missions will be awarded a new Patch costume for Wolverine, a free hero costume.

Patch, first introduced in 1988’s Wolverine #1, is depicted in the comics as an alias used by Wolverine for more covert operations. He dons a white-jacketed Tuxedo and an eyepatch, which hides his identity completely.

The new Marvel Rivals Hellfire Gala: Moments in-game event will go live on May 2 at 2 AM PT / 5 AM ET. Fans looking for patch notes on Season Two (including which heroes have been buffed or nerfed) can check out the list from the official website.
