Throughout 2026, Marvel Rivals has announced it will be delivering new game modes and events inspired by the MCU until the release of Avengers: Doomsday.
At Marvel Rivals Assemble, the special event commemorating everything Marvel Rivals, NetEase Games and Marvel Games made a series of world premiere announcements for upcoming game content, collaborations and more coming in 2026. The live event is meant to celebrate the past year in Rivals, while looking ahead to the future. A team of the top figures at NetEase Games and Marvel Games took the stage to reveal everything coming to Rivals for 2026. The event can be seen below.
In the new roadmap titled Path to Doomsday, Marvel Games has announced that it will roll out special events and new game modes inspired by the MCU’s Avengers movies, from The Avengers (released back in 2012) to Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame (released in 2019). The new in-game events will span seven years of Marvel Cinematic Universe history heading into Avengers: Doomsday. The celebration will continue throughout the year, with June focused on Age of Ultron, August on the Infinity Saga films, and October on Endgame. Special in-game events and modes will be deployed to players, offering a look at how events have transpired from the battlefields of Marvel Rivals.
In April, Players will have access to a new, limited-time, special game mode that pits a super-powered Loki against a team of six different heroes. Loki is equipped with a new skill set, combining deception, illusions, and powerful Infinity Stone abilities to turn enemies against each other, not unlike the events in The Avengers. Loki will also be wearing a costume inspired by his appearance in the 2012 film.
While celebrations will commence all year, it remains to be seen what the base Marvel Rivals experience does following each film-based event, and whether there will be other in-game events as the Path to Doomsday timeline moves forward. NetEase Games has teased the upcoming Season 7, where “a thief and an agent are teaming up in New York for an impossible mission,” so seasonal content is still on the menu. Marvel Rivals Season 7 is set to kick off on March 20, and the first Avengers film-based event will start in April.
