Meta Connect 2025 kicked off last evening, and to commemorate the occasion, Mark Zuckerberg took to the stage to share the latest updates on Meta’s AI glasses.
Meta Connect 2025 is Meta’s annual virtual event where the company unveils its latest innovations in augmented/virtual reality, AI, and the metaverse. Consumers can think of the event like a Meta-only version of The Game Awards ONL, where Meta gives everyone information on their newest products before the event begins. During the opening keynote, Mark Zuckerberg himself introduced the Meta world to “personal superintelligence,” the foundation of all three newly revealed smart glasses at Meta Connect 2025.
In July 2025, Zuckerberg penned an open letter to Meta’s audience explaining the future of Meta and how it’s all-in on AI development. He claimed then, “The improvement is slow for now, but undeniable. Developing superintelligence is now in sight,” on AI advancements at Meta, adding, “In some ways, this will be a new era for humanity.” The keynote in its entirety can be seen below.
Personal superintelligence refers to when AI becomes advanced enough to surpass human cognitive abilities across a spectrum of thought-based tasks, and it’s tailored to each user to improve individual lives. This technology is featured in the three new wearable AI Glasses unveiled by Meta to kick off Meta Connect 2025, and Mark Zuckerberg stated, “Meta’s vision is to bring personal superintelligence to everyone.”
Meta Connect 2025 – Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2)

The next generation of Ray-Ban Meta glasses is here, with up to 2x the battery life compared to the previous generation. Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) offers up to eight hours of mixed use as well as ultra HD 3K video recording — providing more than double the previous number of pixels of Gen 1 — for sharper content capture.
The Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) introduces a new feature, coming soon to the frames of the AI Glasses, called Conversation Focus. Conversation focus uses the onboard AI glasses’ open-ear speakers to amplify the voice of the person you’re talking to, and it will be made available in the next update for previous models as well as the new Gen 2. Meta’s focus is to bring “all-day AI” to users. It admits fans can only use live AI for an hour or two currently, as Meta AI transitions from a prompted help tool to “an always-available assistant.”
With the Meta Connect 2025 announcement of the AI Glasses, the Ray Ban Meta (Gen 2) launched with three limited-time-only seasonal colours and a limited-edition Wayfarer Matte Transparent frame (complete with two lens colour options) to better tailor the Ray Ban Meta to users’ personal style. Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) is available now on meta.com and Ray-Ban.com, starting at $379.
Meta Connect 2025 – Oakley Meta Vanguard

The follow-up to the Oakley Meta HSTN is here. At Meta Connect 2025, Meta introduced the audience to the Oakley Meta Vanguard, performance-based AI Glasses that can go wherever the user goes, with the durability to withstand high-intensity sports and rugged outdoor adventures. Two new capture modes have been added to the Oakley Meta Vanguard — Hyperlapse and Slow Motion — so consumers can capture their travels in a myriad of different ways (this functionality is also included with the Ray Ban Meta (Gen 2) and the Oakley Meta HSTN).
The Oakley Meta Vanguard deploys Meta’s most powerful open-ear speakers yet, which is six decibels louder than Oakley Meta HSTN, making these new AI frames a good choice to take on outdoor trips for hiking or a long run. These frames are in it for the long haul; the battery can last up to nine hours of mixed use and has an IP67 rating in case they get a little wet.
Meta is integrating Garmin and Strava with the Meta AI app to take wearer performance to the next level. Wearers get real-time stats on the fly (hands-free), and Meta AI will give users workout summaries to help track progress over time. A new autocapture feature is included with Garmin that triggers the glasses to capture footage automatically based on workout stats and milestones. When reaching a set distance, the glasses can capture hands-free video without requiring you, the user, to ask.
The Oakley Meta Vanguard comes with swappable Oakley PRIZM Lenses to change their appearance or in case one gets lost. Pre-orders are open now for the Oakley Meta Vanguard (at $499 USD), and they’ll hit shelves on October 21.
Meta Connect 2025 – Meta Ray-Ban Display

The last pair of AI Glasses introduced at Meta Connect 2025 are the first AI glasses with a high-resolution monocular display, the Ray-Ban Display, which combines the Ray-Ban style with the new Meta Neural Band. The display itself (large enough to read text messages or watch a small video) is slightly offset from the center of the lens to avoid disrupting the user’s view, and it disappears after a few seconds when not in use.
At 42 pixels per degree (ppd), it’s a higher resolution than any of our consumer VR headsets (including Meta Quest 3). With a custom light engine and waveguide delivering brightness up to 5,000 nits, it works great indoors and outside, even on the brightest day outside. Each pair of Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses comes with a Meta Neural Band revealed at Meta Connect 2025. The Neural Band includes 18 hours of battery life and a water-resistant form factor. Its bracelet appearance allows users to silently control the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses with subtle hand gestures, putting seamless, intuitive control of the Meta Ray-Ban Display at users’ fingertips.
The Meta Ray-Ban Display will be available for purchase starting September 30 for $799, which includes the Meta Neural Band. Meta is also setting up demos for consumers to try out the Meta Ray-Ban Display, and fans can head here to set it up and check where the nearest location is.
That wraps up the three new pairs of AI Glasses revealed at Meta Connect 2025’s keynote. Consumers can find all of the details over on the official Meta site, as well as more information on personal superintelligence and everything else Meta revealed on stage.
