With the Final Fantasy Universes Beyond popularity still at a boiling point, Wizards of the Coast strikes while the iron is hot for MTG x Sonic the Hedgehog, a collaboration that brings the SEGA hero to Magic: the Gathering.
Magic: the Gathering keeps the crossovers coming, and after bringing Deadpool, Sponge-Bob and Final Fantasy to SecretLair, they’ve opened the lair once again for an upcoming MTG x Sonic the Hedgehog three-set SecretLair drop. Wizards of the Coast has announced the drop will come in three separate sets, and as is the norm with recent SecretLair drops, one set will feature a new unique card featuring the Blue Blur himself and the others will include notable reprints from existing Magic: the Gathering cards.

All of the MTG x Sonic the Hedgehog drops will be available at MagicSecretLair.com starting on July 14, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. EST sharp. Lately, Magic: the Gathering SecretLair drops have been hard to acquire, as fans have recently become irate with the ‘queue’ method Wizards of the Coast continues to deploy for SecretLair. Fans who don’t want to miss out should get to the site as soon as they can on July 14 before the drop launches to have the best odds at obtaining the new Sonic the Hedgehog drop, but Final Fantasy forum testimonials have cast a shadow over the whole process.
