On Thursday, the Pokémon Company revealed its plans for the start of 2025 including the next Pokémon TCG Expansion and the new Latin American Spanish language on-card translation are coming.
The Pokémon Company’s had a busy Thursday morning, as today the latest Pokémon TCG expansion, Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together has been officially announced for March 2025 and official Pokémon Trading Card Game card translations will be available in Latin American Spanish for the first time ever with the release of the set. Starting with the Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together expansion, all future sets will be featured in the language as well, and the difference between Spain and Latin American Sprigatito TCG cards can be seen below.
Regional Director for Latin America at The Pokémon Company International, Tomas Cortijo said “Our Latin American fans have always been a vibrant and important part of the passionate Pokémon community, and we’re delighted to be able to bring the Pokémon TCG to them in the language that resonates best with them,” continuing with “Incorporating Latin American Spanish into the Pokémon TCG allows us to provide our Latin American fans with a new way to experience the brand and further explore the world of Pokémon, and we can’t wait for that adventure to start with Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together.”
Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together features fan favourite Trainer’s Pokémon (first introduced in the Pokémon TCG: Gym Heroes expansion from 2000), as initially revealed at the 2024 Pokémon World Championships. The set portrays the importance of a bond between Pokémon Trainer and Pokémon, featuring artwork, creatures and trainers from the entire series.
N’s Zoroark (featured in Pokémon Black & White), Iono’s Bellibolt ex (featured in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet) and Hop’s Zacian ex (featured in Pokémon Sword & Shield) are just a few reveals made from the upcoming set that showcase the TCG’s commitment toward the entire franchise in the new trainer featured cards, and in the new set, the Pokémon TCG confirms there will be More than 40 Trainer’s Pokémon cards, and More than 30 Pokémon and Trainer cards with special illustrations will be featured.
