Elegoo is putting serious money behind 3D model creators with a $1-million fund tied to its new Nexprint platform.

Elegoo is no stranger to 3D Printing, making some of the most affordable and accessible machines you can buy currently. And in a move sure to excite creators, Elegoo is launching a fund that aims to pay them for submissions to its new Nexprint platform. The fund, which begins disbursing on Aug. 9 and operates on a month-to-month basis, will grant US$5 for each approved original submission on Nexprint.

An additional US$5 is available for exceptional designs that receive priority exposure on the platform. There is no exclusivity cap or monthly submission limit for individuals, allowing creators to upload as many models as they choose during each reward phase. A separate “alliance reward” offers tiered invitation bonuses for those who bring new creators to Nexprint, paying up to US$100 per month.

“The fund shows our commitment to delivering the best user experience to the Nexprint community by hosting a tremendous amount of 3D models accessible to everyone,” said Chris Hong, CEO at Elegoo. “We greatly value originality in this industry. Nexprint will be a perfect platform to showcase creators’ original ideas. We believe in here every design will pay off.”

There are plenty of platforms that let creators submit models, many of which are used by thousands of people daily. Some even allow you to sell your creations. But Nexprint appears different, aiming to build a community from the ground up by attracting creators from around the world who want to share their ideas.

As structured, the reward pool is topped up monthly, with remaining allocations updated live on Nexprint.com. The first phase runs from Aug. 9 to 31 on a first-come, first-served basis. Starting in September, the total available reward amount will refresh on the first day of each month. In addition to monthly grants, Elegoo says it will consider long-term collaborations for standout creators whose work gains traction on the platform.

Nexprint, which launched Aug. 4, is positioned as an open-source community: a hub for sharing and downloading 3D models that connects makers across borders through streamlined publishing and discovery. Elegoo frames the initiative as a way to lower barriers for creators while accelerating the availability of high-quality, original designs for hobbyists, educators and professionals alike.

The move comes as Elegoo continues to expand its footprint in consumer 3D printing and maker hardware. Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Shenzhen, the company specializes in the research, development, manufacturing and sales of consumer-grade 3D printers, laser engravers and STEM kits. Elegoo says it has sold millions of products in more than 100 countries and regions, with 2024 sales revenue surpassing US$220 million. The company employs more than 1,000 staff and operates nearly 30,000 square metres of office and manufacturing space as part of a broader push to make programming and 3D printing technology more accessible.

For creators looking to participate, submissions approved in August will count toward the initial reward phase, with monthly totals resetting in September. You can head over to Nexprint to find out more. It is an exciting move that, as more people join the platform, could present a strong opportunity to welcome newcomers to the hobby of 3D printing and make it feel less daunting for aspiring makers.
