As set images have been leaked earlier in the week, it appears Elden Ring is in full production, and now The Last of Us‘s Nick Offerman is joining the cast.
Earlier in the week, videos leaked showing the set of the Elden Ring movie, and the set looks faithful to the source material (the blockbuster FromSoftware game the movie is based on). Fans have responded positively on Reddit to the set leaks, as they appear to embrace the nature of the game, with the Church of Marika appearing to be pulled straight out of the 2022 game release. The footage can be seen below, and it appears to be The Lands Between injected into the real world.
Today, the A24 production has revealed that they’re also bringing veteran actors on board. Nick Offerman will be cast in the Elden Ring film according to World of Reel, and considering previous adaptation castings, Offerman will provide a veteran presence on the set. Offerman joins Kit Connor, Ben Whishaw, and Cailee Spaeny on set, with more actors to be announced in the production still.
Offerman has become a film adaptation mainstay as of recent, with a role announced in Sonic the Hedgehog 4, and previously starring in The Last of Us and The Umbrella Academy. As the apocalypse survivor Bill in the third episode of the first season of The Last of Us, Offerman won an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series and now hes bringing that talent to The Lands Between.

The leaked set footage foreshadows the film will explore The Lands Between at the point of its history after The Shattering (the major event that kicks off the Elden Ring video game), and won’t serve as a prequel or a sequel to the base game. Alex Garland (the director of the film who has been on board since the beginning) even said he played 4,000 hours of Elden Ring ‘in preparation,’ and delivered a 160-page draft for directorial rights.
Elden Ring is currently in production, and more casting choices will undoubtedly be revealed in the near future.
