Nintendo has rolled out plans to discontinue its Switch Game Voucher Program, which was intended to net savings for Online membership subscribers.
The Nintendo Switch Game Voucher Program was rolled out in 2019, and it allowed players to pick up newly released software with savings shaved off the top. In a two-pack of vouchers (worth $99.98), fans could pick up two digital MSRP titles with 18-25% taken off just for being a Nintendo Online subscriber, and fans were allowed to stockpile up to eight of these coupons for future releases. Today, the decision has been made to cut the program entirely, and the last call lands on January 30, 2026.

In a long-form FAQ post on the official website, details have been laid out to end the program, but fans can still use it to get savings before the gates close for good. The program closes next year, giving fans approximately six months to grab vouchers. Notably, the vouchers are good for a whole calendar year after purchase, even after the program closes permanently in January 2026. Many games on the voucher eligibility list — like Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe — are listed at MSRP, letting players save $10 and up by using vouchers.
When asked if the program will continue to add new games to the eligibility list, Nintendo said “Yes, additional Nintendo Switch games released by Nintendo will also be added to the list of titles for which vouchers can be redeemed after the sale of vouchers ends on 30 January, 2026” which means new titles will continue to be added although the program is ending.
Although the voucher program is being killed, fans can still save on new digital titles by following guidelines up to the closing date of January 30. Fans should check out the FAQ page for more information.
