OnePlus is heading into the holiday season with a big showcase planned for early December, and ahead of the showcase, there’s an alleged leak of the upcoming OnePlus Buds 3 schematics from the FCC.
OnePlus is notorious for teasing its fans by drip-feeding consumers information about its flagship smartphones, and its next showcase is scheduled for early December, which could be when the company decides to unveil the much-rumoured OnePlus 12. The teaser announcement comes from the Weibo website and is loosely translated as “People who meet will meet again” with “Come and chat around the fire, see you at 19:00 on the 4th of December!”. The official promotional image for the company’s 10th birthday can be seen below.
It’s interesting to note that CEO Pete Lau is standing in the center of the clock and is pointing strategically towards the number 12, which could indicate that this will be when the flagship 12 smartphone is officially announced. While the new flagship is more than likely going to sport updated cameras as per previous teases regarding the upcoming smartphone, OnePlus China President Li JieLouis has said (also translated from Weibo) it will be the “first flagship phone to be fully equipped with a ‘new generation of ultra-light imaging system’.” It is also said that it will surpass the image capabilities of all previous OnePlus flagship smartphones.
While an official announcement has still not been made regarding the upcoming OnePlus 12, the 10-year anniversary event is scheduled for December 4 rather than on their previously declared birthday of December 17.
OnePlus Buds 3 Schematics Allegedly Leaked by the FCC
OnePlus is no stranger to leaks, having seen its latest smartphone hit the internet before an official announcement last year, and this year, it’s a smartphone accessory that’s at the receiving end of alleged leaks. The upcoming companion accessory, the Buds 3, has allegedly been leaked by the FCC. SlashLeaks have found information and schematics, and they bear an uncanny resemblance to the current Buds Pro 2. It’s worth mentioning the previous Buds 2 Pro sport a 60mAh battery as opposed to the forecasted Buds 2 58mAh, but the presentation is eerily similar. It’s possible that OnePlus could be offering a suitable set of wireless earbuds with ANC for a more consumer-friendly price with the same professional presentation as the Buds Pro 2 boast.
While speculation and leaks do help build hype, all leaks and such should be taken with a grain of salt until the big event that takes place on December 4.
