On Wednesday OnePlus revealed yet another item to the OnePlus 13 lineup, the OnePlus 13R, and the latest ‘flagship killer’ comes out on January 7, 2025 globally.
OnePlus—a manufacturer of high-end smartphones and accessories—has doubled down this week by revealing new developments scheduled to launch during the upcoming Winter Launch Event 2024. Wednesday, the company unveiled the OnePlus 13R, a less premium and less expensive option for consumers who want premium functionality without settling on other higher-priced flagship smartphones (including the upcoming OnePlus 13) as part of the upcoming OnePlus 13 Series.
The OnePlus 13R is available in two nature-inspired colourways, Nebula Noir and Astral Trail. Like the recently revealed OnePlus 13, it features a slim design with a triple-camera system on the rear. The chassis is crafted from scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass 7i on the front and back, secured to an aluminum frame, providing a sleek and durable finish.
Although OnePlus has yet to reveal much about the OnePlus 13R, previous releases in the 2024 OnePlus catalogue suggest it will follow the company’s tradition of offering a less expensive companion device to its flagship models, designated with an “R.” These so-called “flagship killers” began last year with the OnePlus 12R, and the OnePlus 13R appears set to continue that trend.
While OnePlus hasn’t shared much about the upcoming OnePlus 13R, fans won’t have to wait long for more details. The company is set to reveal the entire OnePlus 13 Series on Jan. 7, 2025.
