The next hero coming to Overwatch is Sierra, a character set to wreak carnage as a new addition to the damage-role roster.
Blizzard Entertainment revealed the news alongside the release of a new trailer introducing Sierra’s backstory. Sierra’s hero trailer follows the teaser of her artwork that was released last week, and she’s a damage-role character who will be added to the game when Season Two of Reign of Talon launches on April 14th. Interestingly enough, Blizzard Entertainment seems to be keeping the finer details close to its chest, considering the trailer shows off what the new hero is capable of, but details regarding her kit have yet to be released. The new character reveal trailer can be seen below in all of its animated glory.
When Overwatch announced its massive relaunch for 2026, it surprisingly dropped five heroes in Reign of Talon Season One and promised another playable character in every subsequent season moving forward. So far, that promise has been kept, with the announcement that Sierra’s landing will be in the game when Season Two kicks off on April 14. While Sierra is the first of five to launch with the forecasted five-season run of Reign of Talon, the first five new Heroes of the year have already hit the game with: Domina, Emre, Mizuki, Anran, and Jetpack Cat. One of whom, Emre, is featured in the trailer.
The release of Season One in February distributed the existing heroes into sub-categories of roles, placing further emphasis on each character’s kit and role identity in Overwatch. Damage roles have been classified into: Sharpshooter, Recon, Flanker and Specialist, but outside of the trailer, Blizzard hasn’t stated which one of these categories Sierra will fall into. Unfortunately, although adept at wielding a plasma rifle and using a drone to tow her about the battlefield, we have no clue what her ultimate ability looks like.
Overwatch fans will be able to check out Sierra’s entire kit when Season Two of Reign of Talon launches on April 14.
