The Massive Palworld Tides of Terraria Update Adds New Mechanics, a Raid Boss and More!

The Palworld Tides of Terraria collaboration has finally launched, and it’s bringing a slew of new mechanics, activities, islands and a raid boss.

Pocketpair launched the trailer for its first major crossover event with Palworld, Palworld Tides of Terraria, just last week, and the update that deploys all of the Terraria additions to Palpagos Island is here. While the past year has been a rollercoaster for Pocketpair with the Feybreak update and gameplay changes forced by an ongoing lawsuit, Palworld Tides of Terraria has finally launched today. In case you missed it, the trailer released last week for Tides of Terraria can be seen below.

The Palworld Tides of Terraria Update (v0.6.0) introduces a major crossover with Re-Logic’s popular sandbox title Terraria, complete with a new dungeon swarming with enemies pulled directly from the Terraria universe. These foes drop useful materials that can be used to craft weapons and equipment inspired by the original game. Players can even take on a new raid boss from Terraria, the formidable Moon Lord.

Most notably, Tides of Terraria adds a roster of new Pals for fans to catch and team up with. The Terraria-themed Pal lineup includes jellyfish, tropical birds, and an adorable hamster-like creature named Herbil. In total, 15 new Pals are available for Castaways to discover and tame. That’s not all, Palworld is also introducing new elemental variants of existing favourites, including a Fuack Ignis form that combines both water and fire types.

New activities and three new island types have been added to the Palpagos Islands. Players can now connect with their inner angler and fish up Pals that are exclusive to the new mechanic. Players can craft a rod and start reeling in a bunch of Pals and goodies, even ore for crafting can be fished out of standing water. Speaking of, Palworld has even allowed players to build their own fishing pond back at their home base. The three new island types are as follows: Tropical Islands, Iceberg Islands, and Shipwreck Islands, and newly instituted Treasure Maps will get players scouring the new island type surface.

Pocketpair wasn’t finished there, as the PlayStation 5 release of Palworld Tides of Terraria is receiving dedicated servers in the new update to provide a smoother gameplay experience, alongside numerous other patches that provide a more stable experience. Quality of life improvements are also numerous, and with the Palworld Tides of Terraria update, fans can now use the new Palbox Control Device, which enables access to your Palbox freely from anywhere in your base. Palworld has even instituted equipment durability to the equipment screen, and these notes are numerous and can be found on the official Pocketpair website.
