Recreate Games has continued to support Party Animals since it launched back in September 2023, and today the party-brawling title has received full Steam Deck support with new updates.
Party Animals has been noticeably missing in action on reliable mobile gaming since launch, and today Recreate Games is announcing full Steam Deck support (no plans have been announced for a Nintendo Switch release) for the fun party brawler. In celebration of the Chinese New Year, Recreate Games has also implemented a new (and free) Shen Loong Battle Pass, that will allow players to earn some new cosmetic rewards just by participating in the party this season.
A brand-new map is coming to Party Animals as well: it’s called “Luggage Chaos” and it adds that signature Party Animals ragdoll feel to the chaos of handling luggage at an airport. Team members will have to transport luggage using conveyor belts, and to the chagrin of the passengers flying out of the airport, you can throw the luggage to help move things along faster. Recreate Games is also not asking newcomers (or returning fans) to play alone, they’re implementing a new Friend Pass into Party Animals, so no one will ever have to attend without a plus one.
The Friend Pass is unfortunately only available on Steam, but considering Xbox players can play cross-platform with PC Steam players, they can send a cross-platform invite as long as a friend has access to Steam. Friends can download the ‘Friend Pass version’ of Party Animals from the Steam Store page at no cost after the invite is sent, and once both parties have added each other as in-game friends, the full-version owner can invite their friend to join their team or lobby. The Friend Pass notably works for one friend at a time.
New animals will be arriving to Party Animals, allowing fans to customize how they look going into battle. Seven new playable characters are available for purchase with Cookies (premium currency) from February 8th onward, and 27 new skins for existing characters will also be made available.
Party Animals is out now for Xbox Series S/X, PC, and now Steam Deck verified.
