Within one day of the PlayStation 30th Anniversary classic lineup launch, most items have already sold out on PlayStation Direct, but there are still other chances for some items!
PlayStation has had a busy month, with the announcement of the base version of the PS5 Pro two weeks ago, followed by the reveal of the PlayStation 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro classic edition the following week. While fans rushed online to express their excitement for the classic-themed console, today marked the pre-order launch of the devices on the PlayStation Direct website, and the lineup almost instantly sold out. Below is an image of the queue many fans encountered before being allowed to check out, with wait times averaging “more than an hour” to access the marketplace.

A quick look at eBay will dishearten many fans hoping to get their hands on the PlayStation 30th Anniversary PS5, as consumers lucky enough to secure a pre-order (within minutes of the launch) have already marked up the price significantly. With a retail price of $499, some sellers are listing the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition – 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle for as much as $1,500 — a 300% mark-up — and that’s not even the new, very limited PS5 Pro console bundle.

However, the PlayStation 30th Anniversary launch may still be available for some buyers at other retailers. Physical pre-orders for the DualSense Wireless Controller—30th Anniversary Limited Edition have been spotted in retail stores like GameStop (with no digital pre-order available yet), and the PS5 Slim Digital Console bundle is set to be available for pre-order on October 10. So there is some hope for fans looking to get their hands on some PlayStation 30th Anniversary nostalgia items.
All PlayStation 30th Anniversary classic catalogue items will officially be released on November 21. Fans should note that the base edition of the PS5 Pro console is still available for pre-order at retailers and on the PlayStation Direct website, so those interested in the Pro console should act fast before eBay becomes the only option.
