PlayStation’s woes in the live service area are seemingly continuing, as the head of PlayStation-owned Haven Studios, Jade Raymond, has left the company.
Haven Studios was developing its first game, a Payday-esque heist game called Fairgame$, which was revealed back in May 2023.
As reported by Bloomberg, Raymond apparently left the studios a few weeks after the first external test took place for Fairgame$. While leadership at PlayStation didn’t give staff at Haven a reason for her departure, a statement was provided to Bloomberg, saying,
“Jade Raymond has been an incredible partner and visionary force in the founding of Haven Studios. We are deeply grateful for her leadership and contributions, and we wish her all the best in her next chapter.”
Fairgame$ was one of a dozen games planned by Sony years ago in a massive live-service push, and it’s one of the only ones remaining. Other planned titles also included Firewalk Studio’s failed hero shooter Concord, the canceled The Last of Us Online, and a canceled God of War multiplayer game, a Spider-Man multiplayer game called The Great Web – which we currently don’t know the status of.
We have, however, seen Helldivers 2 release and Bungie’s Marathon is set to release later this year. According to Bloomberg, Fairgame$ was originally planned to release in late 2025, but has since been delayed to 2026.
Before founding Haven Studios in 2021, Raymond previously worked at Ubisoft. She’s best known for being an executive producer on games like Assassin’s Creed II, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist, and Watch Dogs. She was also the lead on the canceled Star Wars game Project Ragtag for Electronic Arts. Raymond did not respond to a request for comment according to Bloomberg.
Fairgame$ is currently in development for PS5.
