On Tuesday, it’s confirmed that PlayStation will host a State of Play showcase tomorrow, making all of the rumours regarding a showcase in February true.
PlayStation State of Play is returning tomorrow. Sony announced the details over on the official PlayStation Blog on Tuesday, and like other PlayStation showcases, this one will take ~40 minutes to get through new details surrounding upcoming software for the PS5. The showcase may answer some of the rumours surrounding PlayStation, including the massive PlayStation Network outage last week or Sony’s decision to stop requiring PSN accounts when fans play certain PlayStation Studios titles on PC. Either way, the next State of Play lands tomorrow, February 12, at 5:00 p.m. EST.
On the PlayStation Blog, Content Communications Manager of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Tim Turi, writes, “The show celebrates a creative and unique selection of exciting games from studios around the world,” confirming the showcase will be used to promote the next wave of titles coming to the PlayStation ecosystem. A PlayStation State of Play has been rumoured since earlier in the year, with the previously released Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater trailer heavily rumoured to be a part of the presentation before it was leaked (then announced) last week, reigniting rumours on the internet of the Sony showcase.

Like every State of Play, PlayStation will be live streaming the broadcast on the official PlayStation video streaming accounts. Fans should note that the presentation will be approximately 40 minutes in length, and it will cover upcoming software for the PlayStation ecosystem. It has been rumoured that a new PlayStation handheld could potentially be released, as well as a potential Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time port to PS5, considering the accidental PlayStation store addition of the title that happened last week.
