Pokémon Pokopia's Release Date Is Revealed, With Other Characters and Details in a New Trailer

The Pokémon Company International shared new details about the upcoming cozy life sim, Pokémon Pokopia, which is scheduled to arrive in March 2026.

After its reveal at the September Nintendo Direct showcase, The Pokémon Company has remained relatively quiet on Pokémon Pokopia until today. Pokopia will let trainers enter unfamiliar territory, and they will have to step into the shoes of the Impostor Pokémon, Ditto. This particular Ditto has transformed into a human, and fans will have to work together with other Pokémon friends to create the ideal Pokémon paradise. A new trailer has been revealed alongside the new details and release date. It can be watched below.

Pokémon Pokopia is all about teamwork, and it’s filled with familiar favourites who can help you in various ways. Bulbasaur can teach you Leafage to help add greenery to the environment and spruce things up, and Lapras can teach you Surf to allow you to travel across water to explore new territory. Like previous mainline Pokémon HM moves, fans can use these moves to help make their town more appealing to lots of different Pokémon.

Players can interact with Pokémon that come to visit, and like Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players can work with the newcomers to build them houses to live in. Visiting Pokémon Pokopia creatures can make requests, and these tasks help make the town area a more comfortable place for everyone to live together. Some of these requests will be tied to solving bigger problems, and fulfilling them will help you make even more progress.

Four unique Pokémon Pokopia creatures have been revealed, called Peculiar Pokémon. These peculiar creatures’ personalities are shown in their design. Professor Tangrowth can teach Ditto all sorts of things. A mysteriously pale Pikachu with droopy ears known as Peakychu can be met, and a Snorlax covered in moss (called Mosslax) can be spotted snoozing away (yes, that mossy look suggests it hasn’t moved in a long while). Smearguru is a colourful Smeargle who seemingly wears more paint than the canvas.

Pokémon Pokopia will launch on March 5, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2.
