Pokémon TCG Pocket has yet again announced a new booster pack for players to enjoy, Mega Shine.
Coming on March 25th, the Mega Shine booster pack is set to debut new, specifically mega-evolved, shiny Pokémon. Appearances from everyone’s favourite Mega Charizard X and Mega Gengar, plus a couple of other Pokémon, will be the highlight of the booster pack. One of the coolest features of this update is that if you move your phone around, the new shiny card will shimmer with light.

With the new cards introduced in the booster pack, it’s only rational that there would be some new rules associated with them. If you manage to knock out a mega evolution card while playing, you will get three points, which is an instant win in the card game. The more convoluted rule set comes with actually evolving these cards; mega cards are basic, stage 1, and stage 2, with the last two able to be evolved directly from the basic card or stage one card. So basically, a Mega Charizard X can be evolved from a Charmander, but something like a Mega Mawile doesn’t need evolution because it’s a basic card.
In addition to the new cards introduced, Pokémon TCG Pocket, as per usual, has a coterie of events lined up through to late April. The Mega Shine Emblem Event will run from late March to early April, where players can battle for chances to obtain new emblems, shinedust, and more. After the battles, players can come together and trade cards for the Community Week Event happening early April, where trainers can earn some trade hourglasses, special accessories, and more.
Continuing with a Slowpoke Drop Event happening from early to mid April, where special solo battles will become available, winning these battles nets the player some B Series promo packs vol. 6. Finally, there is the Wonder Pick Event, which is also happening from early to mid April, where Gastly and Wigglytuff card will appear in wonder picks plus there will also be missions which can give the player an event shop ticket, exchangeable for a promo card at the shop.
Pokémon TCG Pocket players finally have access to Mega‑Evolved Shiny Pokémon, so get to opening those packs.
