The mobile Pokémon TCG Pocket keeps adding cards, and today, they’ve announced the debut of Pokémon from the Alolan region, including starters and legends!
With Shining Revelry in rotation for just over a month, and the first Ranked Season of Pokémon TCG Pocket three days away from ending, The Pokémon Company has just announced new plans for the immediate future of TCG Pocket. A new pack expansion is coming called Celestial Guardians, and it’s launching on April 30. A new trailer has been unleashed showcasing the new Pokémon Sun & Moon box legendaries, and it can be seen below.
Starting on April 30, Trainers can start cracking packs in search of their favourite Alolan Pokémon from the mainline Pokémon Sun & Moon Nintendo 3DS titles. With a only just a month having past since the last expansion, Shining Revelry launched, TCG Pocket also revealed the first ever Ranked Battle season for Trainers to test their mettle against. While the season concludes on April 27, Pokémon TCG Pocket fans have had many opinions on how the first season fared.
On Reddit, the “Exactly what I expected to see in Ranked” thread revealed how trainers enjoyed the first season and the comments were more negative than positive on how it went. User _NotMyNormalUserName said “This meta is genuinely unenjoyable to play against” with a slew of comments that agree. Most ‘Meta’ decks in Pokémon TCG Pocket use a stalling Druddigon x Giratina EX strategy, and fans are fed up. Another user, TheBlaringBlue wrote “The way it plays just isn’t fun, it’s just stall-y” regarding the meta Giratina EX strategy.

Looking ahead to Celestial Guardians, the official Pokémon TCG Pocket release failed to mention a second ranked season will be coming with the expansion, but, TCG Pocket did announce from Tuesday, April 29 to Monday, May 12 players can take on special solo battles to obtain new promo cards, including one featuring Rayquaza EX to obtain a Rayquaza EX. These special missions will be playable from Tuesday, April 29 until May 28.
Pokémon TCG Pocket Celestial Guardians launches on April 30, and fans looking for one last rank up in the first ranked season will have only until April 27 to achieve glory.
