The mobile Pokémon TCG Pocket keeps expanding, and today, they’ve announced the debut of powerful Pokémon Ultra Beasts from Sun and Moon!
With Shining Revelry in the rearview mirror and the second season of Ranked Matches coming to a close, Pokémon TCG Pocket sets its sights on the future past April’s Celestial Guardians expansion. Like monthly clockwork, The Pokémon Company has just announced new plans for the immediate future of TCG Pocket. A new pack expansion is coming called Extradimensional Crisis, and it’s launching on May 29. A new teaser trailer has been unleashed showcasing the Pokémon Sun & Moon Ultra Beasts, and it can be seen below.
Unlike every other Pokémon TCG Pocket expansion, Extradimensional Crisis brings trainers back to Alola for the release of powerful Ultra Beasts. This is the first time TCG Pokcet has double-dipped in a specific Pokémon region since launch, and the second wave brings the power. Ultra Beasts aren’t the only inclusions, Tapu Koko ex is coming to TCG Pocket, alongside Alolan trainers like a full art Lusamine as seen in the trailer. The Ultra Beast Pokémon card inclusions include powerful creatures such as Buzzwole ex, Blacephalon, Nihilego and Guzzlord ex.
Ultra Beast Pokémon were introduced in the Sun and Moon video games and their origin comes from another world. Ultra Beasts emerged from Ultra Wormholes with origins from a location called ‘Ultra Space’. There are only 11 creatures who are classified as Ultra Beasts, and only nine have been teased in the trailer above. Only Poipole and its evolution, Naganadel, are missing from the teased lineup. It hasn’t been confirmed that these two are excluded from the expansion yet.

Ultra Beasts are unleashed in the next Pokémon TCG Pocket expansion, Extradimensional Crisis, and it launches on June 3. A new solo battle event featuring Ultra Necrozma ex starts on June 3 and runs until June 11, then, a Wonder Pick event is scheduled to start on June 11 featuring Extradimensional Crisis. An Ultra Beast Mass Outbreak will occur on June 22, giving trainers ample time to acquaint themselves with the new mechanics. More information can be found on the official website leading up to the release.
