Sony Interactive Entertainment has released a list of PlayStation 5 titles enhanced for the PS5 Pro, which launches on November 7th.

Graphics and performance of consoles or PCs are the make-or-break factors of whether buyers will invest in them. Sony Interactive Entertainment’s (SIE) Content Communications Manager Tim Turi released the full list of PlayStation games that will take advantage of the upgraded PlayStation 5 Pro hardware. There is ongoing debate about whether the upcoming release of the enhanced PS5 Pro will justify its price, but its true value remains to be seen. Some of the major titles include God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, and Spider-Man 2.

The levelled-up PS5 Pro console will be launching on Thursday, November 7th, 2024. Sony revealed in a technical presentation it will be priced at $699.99 / £699.99 / €799.99 / ¥119,980. The price sparked some hot debate, but the technical specs are supposedly meant to justify the means.

Turi’s PlayStation blog outlined the 55 PlayStation games enhanced for the PS5 Pro will feature graphical enhancements like advanced ray tracing, PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, and improved framerates of 60hz or 120hz on day one. In September’s tech preview livestream, system architect Mark Cerny revealed that the PS5 Pro has a GPU with 67% more Compute Units and 28% faster memory than the current PS5. Essentially, this means PS5 Pro has 45% faster rendering for gameplay, “making the experience much smoother.”

The advanced ray tracing has been said to allow in-game light rays to be cast at “double, and at times triple,” the speeds of the current PS5 console. A remarkable technological innovation of the PS5 Pro is the PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution. This AI-powered upscaling feature utilizes machine learning to enhance image clarity, delivering crisper visuals, as highlighted by Sony.

It is interesting to note the third-party titles that are on this list of upgraded games. The most intriguing of these bunch include Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Alan Wake 2, and Star Wars: Outlaws. Another one of Activision Blizzard’s games is also on the list, Diablo IV. Other games that will be curious to check out how the PS5 Pro will enhance include Baldur’s Gate 3, No Man’s Sky, Palworld, and EA Sports FC 25.
