Remnant 2’s Third DLC, The Dark Horizon Has Been Revealed

Today, Gunfire Games revealed the third and final piece of DLC content for Remnant 2: The Dark Horizon.

The third and final DLC for Remnant 2 has finally been revealed today. Gunfire Games is bringing players back to the world of Losomn for The Dark Horizon. Surprisingly, Gunfire Games took to Steam to make the announcement on the one-year anniversary of the title’s release. Although it is a good thing that the third DLC has finally been confirmed, the Gunfire Games team laments the delay.

Remnant 2’S Third Dlc, The Dark Horizon Has Been Revealed

Gunfire Games explains, “While we’re not happy about delaying this DLC release – one you’ve been itching to jump into already – we feel very lucky to see your ongoing support and loyalty to the Remnant franchise. The past year has been nothing short of amazing, and we’re glad that Remnant 2 and its DLCs have brought you as much joy as it has brought us creating this world for you” regarding the third DLC’s delay. But the third DLC is said to be the most expansive one to date.

That’s not all Gunfire Games had up their sleeve. Remnant 2 is also said to receive a brand-new game mode, with all the details regarding the new game mode held back for a later reveal. The new game mode (unlike the third DLC) will be completely free for all players, and it will be a completely overhauled progression system.

It’s worth mentioning that after The Awakened King, the first Remnant 2 DLC launched, SteamChartz reported a player base jump of over 137% in November 2023. Gunfire Games may be attempting to restore the player base from then with the new DLC.

The Dark Horizon, Remnant 2‘s third DLC, will arrive at some point in September 2024. While fans still don’t have a ‘set-in-stone’ release date for the DLC, Gunfire Games signed off with, “Thank you once again for your continued support and for being an essential part of the Remnant family.” More info can be found on the Steam announcement page.
