Replaced is Delayed Again, Only a Month Away From Launch

The developers at Sad Cat Studios have confirmed that REPLACED, the upcoming 2.5D cyberpunk title, is being delayed, with a month left until launch.

Since its announcement at E3 in 2021, REPLACED has seen some development trouble. Its initial launch window was scheduled for 2022, but it was then pushed back numerous times until the developers at Sad Cat Studios decided March 12, 2026, was the landing date, with an unwillingness to compromise the title’s quality. Today, the developers have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to announce that REPLACED has swapped release dates again, this time pushing the game back into April 2026. The whole post can be seen below.

Just last month, CGMagazine’s preview of REPLACED called it “Worth the wait,” likening the game’s combat systems to the Batman Arkham series (despite the 2.5D plane). The previews of the title are promising, which is why Sad Cat Studios chose to delay the title again. The same ethos that carried the developers from announcement in 2021 to near release in 2026 has stayed consistent. The developers are still unwilling to compromise on the quality of their debut development.

Sad Cat Studios says, “As a small team working on our very first title, we’ve poured everything we have into this project,” adding, “The response to our Steam demo has been the ultimate fuel for us,” adding, “hearing your excitement has been overwhelming in the best way possible.” The team continued by confirming that player feedback has been integral to getting closer to the finish line and cleaning up some of the rough spots in-game before launch.

Luckily for fans, this delay isn’t much longer than a month. REPLACED will now launch on April 14, 2026, a month away from the original March 12 slot. A demo is still available on Steam, and fans can jump in now to check it out while preparing for the April release.
