RuneScape Announces The Revamp of Player-Owned Housing And Construction Skill Increased Level Cap

As the beloved MMORPG continues to thrive, Jagex launches RuneScape’s latest player-owned housing update and increases the Construction skill level cap.

Following the RuneScape: 25th Anniversary Road to Restoration announcement in January 2026, the team has been releasing updates to address long-standing issues as the beloved MMORPG turns 25. As the title continues to grow and receive updates, Jagex has announced that player-owned housing and the Construction skill will undergo an overhaul, providing more options for players to build their dream houses, display their achievements, and form a community with their friends.

Released in January 2001, RuneScape invites players to explore the world of Gielinor, filled with 25 years’ worth of activities. As the players roam the world, they can complete quests alone or with friends, battle many high-level bosses, meet many popular companions and powerful villains, visit dozens of memorable locations, master 29 skills ranging from Farming to Construction, and hone their skills in four combat styles. Lastly, players can purchase the membership to unlock much more content, including eight additional skills, 120+ extra quests, and access to the entire world map.

The biggest update to arrive in RuneScape is the player-owned housing revamp, introducing over 650 decorative items, five house styles, flexible room shapes and layouts, and free furniture placement, with the option to customize their flooring, interior frame, and furniture skins. Additionally, various items will be available for players to add to their home, including display stations and cases to showcase achievements, a Music Box and Jukebox to play melodies from Gielinor, a Weather Vane to adjust the weather and atmosphere, and a Shroud System to craft a visual appearance of the plot surroundings.

Expanding on one of the features arriving in RuneScape, the new display stations and cases will be available to showcase the weapons, Boss Trophies, and Archaeological items collected throughout their years of playing the MMORPG title. Additionally, players can showcase their earned achievements at home, including a Prestigious Cape Stand to present their favourite cape, an Achievement Log Display, and Skillcape Stands.

With the many new player-owned housing features arriving at RuneScape, players will have the choice to create or join a Homestead with up to five players to build their houses together. As the players join the Homestead, they can move between houses easily, utilize the facilities their friends have crafted, and shape the community together.

Alongside the revamp of player-owned housing, many utility features have been added to RuneScape. The features that have been added are:

  • Travel With Ease – Players can utilize the Teleport Nexus as their personal rune-based travel hub, allowing them to collect all teleportation Jewellery in the Jewelry Box, reach their friends with the Player Owned Ports Access Table, and teleport to Daemonheim with the Dungeoneering Monolith.
  • Prepare for Battle – A new Potion, Crystal/Combo, and Tea Caldrons will be available for players to craft their supplies. Additionally, Armour Repair Stand, a Slayer Helm stand, Gilded Altars, and a mini War’s Restoration crystal will be available for players to train and equip their items before battles.
  • More Ways to Store – Expanding the storage options, RuneScape introduces the new Furniture Trunk, Costume and Costume Room Storage, Toy Box, Treasure Chest, Armour Chest, Cape Rack, Menagerie, and Aquarium. With the arrival of many new storage options, players can now store their items, collections, equipment, and pets.
  • Skilling Support – Players can improve their skills utilizing useful tools, crafting stations, and special furniture that support various activities. Additionally, new Lecterns and Expanded Lecterns will be added to players’ homes to support tablet creation.
