On Thursday, the developers over at GSC Game World issued a statement acknowledging the issues S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 players face, and commit to correcting course.
GSC Game World’s latest title in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, launched this week to a mixed reception namely because of the reported glitches reviewers have run afoul of. CGMagazine‘s 6/10 review of Heart of Chornobyl said it is “a game with flashes of brilliance, but has deep flaws that make it difficult to recommend as a finished product” due to the issues plaguing gameplay at launch. On Thursday, GSC Game World took to X (formerly Twitter) to acknowledge the issues fans are experiencing, and they’re planning on correcting course for the sequel. That post can be seen below.
The dev team acknowledges the long time the title has been cooking in development, saying “After more than 15 years, the doors to the Zone are opened once again” citing just how long it has been since the last S.T.A.L.K.E.R. title was released before S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 (last title release was in 2009), and cites the fan base for making the development of their “biggest game” for making it possible.

The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 developer message continues with “We’re committed to being here, monitoring your feedback, and quickly fixing any issues that need our attention. In the first days after release, we’ll be working with hotfixes, rolling them out as precisely as possible, but as frequently as we can.” The message from GSC Game World promises “free in-game content” and a roadmap will be coming highlighting these fixes in December.
Not everyone is complaining though. While fans have been complaining about glitches in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, Steam reception has been “Very Positive” after over 12,000 reviews have been submitted by users, although many of the reviews do cite performance as a main issue facing gameplay.
Fans will have to wait until December for more info.
