Expanding the Storage Expansion Card lineup, Seagate has announced the first 4TB Storage Expansion Card for the Xbox Series X|S.
As video games advance in graphics and content, so does the required storage space, with some games now taking over 100GB of storage. In collaboration with Xbox, Seagate has launched the 4TB Storage Expansion Card for the Xbox Series X|S, increasing the storage capacity in the lineup that is simple to use, capable of holding 100+ titles depending on the game size, and maintains the console’s core features.

Launched alongside the Xbox Series X|S, Seagate and Xbox partnered to create the Storage Expansion Card, a plug-and-play NVMe SSD expansion optimized with Xbox Velocity Architecture for fast loading times, a rich environment, and captivating gameplay. Following up on the 1TB Storage Expansion Card from 2020, Seagate has continued to expand the lineup with 512GB, 2TB, and 4TB Storage Expansion Cards.
Depending on the size of the games, the 4TB Storage Expansion Card can hold over 100 titles and is optimized for the Xbox Series X|S, ensuring no impact on graphics, loading times, or frame rates. In addition to storing modern AAA, first-party, and indie games, gamers can store their digital copies of Xbox and Xbox 360 titles on the Storage Expansion Card, allowing legacy games to run better than on the original consoles.

Originally released in 2020, the Storage Expansion Card was an interesting approach to storing games while keeping the core features of the Xbox Series X|S intact. Reviewed by CGMagazine, the Storage Expansion Card received a positive score and highlighted the loading time for Fortnite, sharing: “Load times for games on the Seagate Storage Expansion Card for Series X|S were faster than directly from the Xbox Series X.”
Futureproofing the console’s storage size in time for bigger games, the 4TB Storage Expansion Card for Xbox Series X|S is available for $499 on the Seagate website.
