SGF 2026: Stellar Blade Gets A Surprise Sequel And A Bold Trailer

In a genuinely shocking reveal during SGF 2026, Shift Up and Sony Interactive Entertainment debuted the exciting new chapter in the Stellar Blade saga.

Debuting towards the end of the first night of Summer Game Fest 2026, Stellar Blade: BLOOD RAIN will continue the story of the original Stellar Blade, but this time with a new protagonist named Eve. The trailer sets the stage for a main character that may be a bit more inexperienced than her predecessor, as Eve’s in-ear assistant excitedly claims that this is their “first mission.” No release date was provided for Stellar Blade: BLOOD RAIN however, SHIFT UP will share more details in the future.

The SGF 2026 trailer captures the exciting and intense third-person action that defined the original Stellar Blade, while also introducing some new mechanics. Unlike her predecessor, who almost exclusively used a sword, this game’s Eve uses what looks like mechanical fists that can change shape and even become different weapons. Stellar Blade: BLOOD RAIN will also seemingly see the return of the original game’s horrific Naytibas as well as other cybernetic foes to combat.

Stellar Blade: BLOOD RAIN not only looks to maintain the originals high fidelity environments and character aesthetic, but to enhance them in bigger and better ways—debuting a world that was more detailed, more elaborate and even more mysterious. Evoking imagery from Blade Runner and Ghost In The Shell, SHIFT UP hopes to create a world that is even more ambitious and more exciting than the original.

The original Stellar Blade launched on April 24th, 2024 exclusively for the PlayStation 5 until it was ported to PC in 2025. It received critical acclaim for its dynamic action gameplay and engaging storytelling. However, the game’s quality was overshadowed somewhat by online discourse revolving around the protagonist’s visual design.
