Silent Hill f Original Soundtrack Release Cancelled By Konami, Refunds Are Coming

Konami’s planned original soundtrack and vinyl set release for Silent Hill f has been officially cancelled, and Konami will be offering refunds to those who pre-ordered.

It’s safe to say Silent Hill f has had a successful launch, with fans and critics alike giving the title its flowers. Konami itself announced that the latest title in the horror series had sold over one million units by September 29. Silent Hill f broke the mould for the series, introducing fans to a Japanese location for the first time and recruiting prolific horror-mystery kinetic novel author, Ryukishi07, for narrative work.

So when Konami announced an original soundtrack and limited vinyl set for the title, fans had another way to experience the chilling soundtrack in a new medium. Unfortunately, Konami has now cancelled the release of the original soundtrack and the vinyl set, and will now be offering refunds for those who have pre-ordered the set. The music collection was set to release on December 17, 2025, and Konami has given no reasoning for the cancellation aside from “various circumstances.”

The official X announcement reads (with Google Translate), “Due to various circumstances, we have decided to cancel the release of SILENT HILL f: ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK,” adding, “We deeply apologize for any inconvenience caused.” Fans have taken to forums like Reddit to express their frustration with the decision. The decision to cancel the soundtrack is especially confusing for fans, considering Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 soundtrack launched in vinyl format without issue on the Laced website (and it even had the same composer, Akira Yamaoka).

One fan, Astr412, posts, “Sad to see this news, I found soundtrack and sound-design overall to be one of the best aspects of the game. It’s a shame ost release got cancelled,” and the rest of the thread shares the same sentiment. While major speculation has hit the internet on why the soundtrack cancellation occurred, Konami hasn’t announced any reasoning behind the soundtrack’s dismissal yet.
