YouTube video

Insomniac Games’ take on Marvel’s Wolverine has finally been revealed as the final announcement at the Sony State of Play presentation. Insomniac did not shy away from bloodshed, as Weapon-X can be seen brutalizing many adversaries with bloody claw stabs (including stabbing one through the front of his face with brutal effect). Other X-Men will be featured in the title, as Mystique was shown transforming, and Omega Red was shown briefly.

The developers at Insomniac Games are seeking to explore the “unreliable narrator” version of the character, so they cast Liam McIntyre as Logan/Wolverine, and motion capture was used to bring ‘The Best There Is’ to life.

As Wolverine faced off against a big Sentinel (an iconic scene for comic fans), fans were given the Fall 2026 release window, and Insomniac will undoubtedly reveal more before then, in Spring 2026.

That just about wraps the big Sony State of Play September 2025 showcase. Fans looking for more info on any of the reveals, can head to the official PlayStation website.
