Star Fox has been the talk of the town since Nintendo revealed its special appearance in the Super Mario Galaxy Movie. The Fox McCloud comeback has been in full swing, and having the star power of Glen Powell behind the character on film proves Nintendo is serious about the franchise, but how serious? According to renowned leakers on X (formerly Twitter), fans are about to get yet another announcement that will fuel their Arwings. A new Star Fox title has been rumoured to be announced this month, and it will allegedly feature “classic-style” gameplay. The leaked post (and the thread it’s attached to) is below.
The CGMagazine review for the Super Mario Galaxy Movie called Fox’s appearance in the film “quite literally out of this world,” adding that it gave “audiences a much more fleshed-out take on a beloved Nintendo character that is full of personality.” The leak in question comes from a prominent Nintendo leak account, NateTheHate, and the account claims “StarFox will be announced this month via Nintendo Today or Twitter.” The account doubled down on this claim when pressed for more information, affirming what he meant. The account claims with certainty that a Star Fox reveal is happening this month 100%, and when asked when in April, the account said: “I have no interest in sharing timing expectations.”
The account has been responsible for leaking insider info from Nintendo showcases in the past. It accurately forecasted events like LEGO Horizon Adventures and some of the content of various Nintendo Directs. The account is also responsible for sharing the rumour earlier in the month that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will be getting a remake.
But, while NateTheHate does show accurate reports, the account has gotten information incorrect before (where timing is concerned). So, fans should take this rumour with a grain of salt until an official announcement is made by Nintendo.
