Fans of Stardew Valley who have been anticipating the long-coveted multiplayer update for the renowned farming sim now have the opportunity to opt-in for beta testing for the Steam version of Stardew Valley.
As written on the official Stardew Valley blog, the beta is currently only available for Steam users, with plans to include GOG players in a few days time. Those interested in partaking in the beta through steam must simply open the game through their steam library, right click select properties and look for the beta tab. Upon viewing the beta tab for the title, users may type in the password for the branch: Jumpingjunimos, then click the “check code” button to proceed.
Once the beta is downloaded and booted up, players will notice a new co-op menu within the game, allowing users to join either through their Steam friends list, invite code or LAN.
ConcenredApe warns users in that this is still a BETA and players should take precautions such as backing up their save data, in case of bugs that and like. the path and file structure for Windows is as followed%APPDATA%StardewValleySaves with Mac users finding their saves located at ~/.config/StardewValley/Saves
No release date for a stable branch of the new multiplayer update has been announced at this time, nor any mention of a console beta.
