It is always satisfying to hear about another indie game’s successful launch. A Steam co-op climbing game called Peak has quickly climbed the sales charts, receiving plenty of positive user reviews. The game has already sold one million copies in just six days. Developed by Landfall Games and Aggro Crab, the title initially launched to just over 11,000 concurrent players on June 17, according to SteamDB. This past Sunday, June 22nd, saw the game pass over the 100,000 concurrent milestone mark.
As of writing, the game is at the top of Steam’s Top Sellers list, joining Stellar Blade and Dune Awakening‘s successes earlier this month. The developer made history with this great success, especially considering this is Landcrab’s first release. In response to Peak passing the million-sales mark, Aggro Crab posted a very snarky and on-brand reaction on social media: “why did this stupid jam game sell more copies than another crabs treasure im gonna crash out”.
Aggro Crab needed Peak to do well, after their last collaboration with Landfall was soured on Going Under 2. Landfall is known for releasing smaller games that make a massive impact. Content Warning topped one million sales fairly quickly, and Totally Accurate Battlegrounds was an April Fools’ Joke that morphed into a surprise hit. Now, their whole schtick is releasing games on April Fools’ Day! This is no small feat for a team of about 12 people.
Another Crab’s Treasure is one of Aggro Crab’s most recent successes that CGMagazine’s Jordan Biordi praised, with an 8.5/10 score. The game follows “a humble hermit crab named Krillis who is approached by the shady Loan Shark, who tells him that the Dutchy of the reef has recently imposed taxes on all its citizens. Unaware and unable to pay, the Loan Shark steals Krill’s beloved shell, forcing him into the briny deep. Once there, Krill quickly needs to find a way to defend himself as it seems the local sea creatures have all gone a bit funny and begin attacking him on sight.”
Biordi enjoyed how much Another Crab’s Treasure did “a lot with so little” for a soulslike game. He also talked about how it was not as graphics-heavy as other Soulslikes such as Lies of P or Elden Ring, but still had a distinct “cartoonish” charm. Overall, Aggro Crab and Landfall lean into their charismatic character designs to entice players, which appears to be working really well for both devs.

Peak is currently available on Steam to buy at $7.99 USD, and is currently on sale for $4.95. Grab it now while the game is hot, trending, and on sale!
