SteelSeries has just launched the SteelSeries Rival 3 Gen 2 low-latency PC mice, bringing higher speed and lower latency to its gaming mouse lineup.
Late last year, SteelSeries dropped the Apex Pro Gen 3 lineup on consumers looking to upgrade their rig. The lineup was further bolstered by releases like the SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini Gen 3 and TKL White Gen 3 in March 2025, proving SteelSeries continues to improve upon its product lines. Today, SteelSeries has announced the SteelSeries Rival 3 Gen 2 mouse lineup, adding lower latency options for users at a lower-than-premium price point.

SteelSeries celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2026, so they’ve unveiled the Rival 3 Gen 2 and Rival 3 Wireless Gen 2 gaming mice. The new PC mice build upon the legacy of the original Rival line which debuted in 2013, by increasing speed and performance while retaining the signature SteelSeries flair and durability. SteelSeries promises every Rival 3 Gen 2 and Rival 3 Wireless Gen 2 “are guaranteed for 60 million clicks.”

Under the hood, the SteelSeries Rival 3 Gen 2 mouse pedals optimized latency speeds of just 1.35ms, and the True Move Core 8,500 DPI optical sensor ensures user precision under any circumstance. The new Rival 3 weighs in at just 77g making it lightweight, sturdy and efficient. The wireless option, the SteelSeries Rival 3 Wireless Gen 2 brings a True Move Air 18k DPI optical sensor to the equation, assuring precision although the mouse is wireless. An optimized latency of 1.9ms puts the Rival 3 Wireless Gen 2 in the same elite class as other wireless mice on the market but at a lower price. Onboard Bluetooth allows the Rival 3 Wireless Gen 2 compatibility with nearly any device.
