The developers behind Stellar Blade, Shift Up, have confirmed there will be a sequel for the title and it will be released sometime in 2027.
Stellar Blade launched to a mainly positive reception when it was released to audiences back in April 2024. CGMagazine’s positive review of Shift Up’s PlayStation console exclusive says it “tries to put its own mark on the post-apocalyptic wasteland genre and mostly succeeds when its own writing allows it.” Shift Up released its financial earnings in a report today, one of the graphs detailing profit has confirmed a Stellar Blade sequel is on the way.
This report comes at the same time a PC port for the base game is set to launch on June 11, and the developers have casually confirmed their intentions to make a sequel in a bar graph that can be seen below (courtesy of Shift Up).

In the financial statements, Shift Up puts emphasis on the Core Strategy to “Develop games that receive long-term love and support.” The original Stellar Blade was not a live-service title, but in the financials it appears that Shift Up may be courting the potential of launching another live-service title or expanding on their existing one.
In the report under Core Strategy, Shift Up lists “Potential of Live Services” next to Stellar Blade and another unnamed project titled “<Project Witches>” (which has been described as a “AAA urban sci-fi action RPG”). Shift Up notably has experience in the live service space with their ongoing title, NIKKE: Goddess of Victory, so those plans could be expanding on that groundwork.

The financial report appears to be accurate as of this posting, considering it does mention a “Platform Expansion” for Stellar Blade to launch in 2025, and on June 11, the title will be released on PC. So far, Shift Up said sales numbers for the original 2024 launch have “exceeded expectations.” Seeing that the timeline of the chart above ends in 2027, the sequel to Stellar Blade is planned to launch by then.
Fans should note that while speculation could be interesting, all speculative reports should be taken with a grain of salt until an official announcement is made from Shift Up.
