Netflix uncorked their second trailer for the final season of the critically acclaimed original, Stranger Things, and it shows Hawkins under siege as the party prepares for the final showdown.
It’s been a long time since Netflix gave fans anything regarding the next and final season of Stranger Things. Last we heard, Netflix slapped a big adult warning onto season five back in November 2024, and interestingly enough, the showrunners at that time confirmed the final season only takes place four years in-universe after the events of season one.

Considering Stranger Things premiered in 2016, a lot more real-life time has passed, which has led to the cast quite literally growing up in that time. Today, Netflix showed why the season has that adult warning with a new trailer that inspires terror, and the series’ big bad, Vecna, hellbent on destruction. The trailer can be seen below.
The official description Netflix gave for the final season last month reads, “The fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna,” adding, “As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.” Stranger Things final season hearkens back to where it all began in season one, the disappearance of Will Byers.
Stranger Things season five will be split into two parts. Volume 1 airs with all episodes on November 26 at 8:00 p.m. EST, and Volume 2 launches on Christmas Day at 8:00 p.m. EST. The Finale is reserved for New Year’s Eve, and it will air at 8:00 p.m. EST.
