On Wednesday, NBC announced their upcoming drama Suits: LA will air just over a week after Valentine’s Day, and a fan-favourite character will return on a limited basis.
It has been over five years since the original NBC legal drama, Suits officially ran its series finale and NBC has revived the series with a new cast and location. On Wednesday, NBC continued to trickle of information regarding the upcoming series by revealing two major developments on the upcoming show. Suits: LA will premiere on February 23, and fan-favourite character and series lead on the original run, Harvey Specter (played by Gabriel Macht), will return, according to Deadline.
Suits: L.A. is centred on Ted Black (played by Stephen Amell), a former prosecutor from New York who has reinvented himself and relocated his law practice to Los Angeles. Instead of serving the people, he now represents powerful clients in Los Angeles. The drama begins when his firm reaches a crisis point, and to survive, he must do whatever it takes to stay afloat. The present-day conflicts are interspersed with flashbacks that slowly reveal the events that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved to start over.
The end of the original Suits TV run saw Specter leave his location and career to explore new options and frontiers in Seattle with his wife, and join partner Mike Ross’ (Patrick J. Adams) legal clinic based there. Macht is set to reprise his role on the spin-off series in three episodes, and the locations fit the timeline of the new series. Patrick J. Adams has not been confirmed to return to the series as of posting this article.
Suits: LA will premiere on NBC on February 23, 2025, alongside other NBC drama productions The Hunting Party and Grosse Pointe Garden Society, set to launch in early 2025.
