During the massive Xbox Showcase at Summer Game Fest 2024, Bethesda Studios in tandem with Lucasfilms brought a new Indiana Jones and the Great Circle trailer along, and one thing is certain, it’s very Indiana Jones.
Did anyone have Indiana Jones fighting Nazis on their Summer Game Fest 2024 bingo card? If so, you should get that stamper ready, as a new trailer for the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has been revealed. The trailer showcases the highest points of cheesy Lucasfilm happenings (playing monkey in the middle over a villainous jobber) while also including cutaways the legendary films are known for. The trailer shown at Summer Game Fest also showcases the titular character Indiana Jones has not missed a beat in his journey from the silver screen to video games. Throughout the trailer, it’s a harrowing experience to note Bethesda Studios stayed entirely true to the source material. Harrison Ford’s young likeness can be found plastered all over the gameplay and cinematics shown at Summer Game Fest 2024, and the typical whimsical facial expressions he is known to make can be seen on full display especially when under extreme duress staring down the barrel of a German Walther pistol. It’s also worth mentioning although they used Harrison Ford’s likeness, Troy Baker has lent his talents to voicing the legendary character.
While some of the plot has been revealed during the action-packed trailer, the overarching story complete with Nazi identifiers such as a mention of ‘The Fatherland’ and “devoted men of the Reich” leads the audience to believe Nazis will at least be present during the overarching story. Fans will also note gameplay is completely from the FPS point of view, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is launching day one on Xbox Game Pass in 2024.
